Silvia Frances “Fran” (Meyer) Ridings was born October 11, 1946, to the late Charles William Meyer (CW) and Silvia Geraldine Richardson (Gerry). Fran departed this world on March 5, 2026.
Fran attended Eastern New Mexico University, where she earned her degree in Office Management. Throughout her life she found joy in creativity and had a deep love for crafting. Cross stitch, embroidery, needlepoint, puzzles—if it kept her hands busy and her mind engaged, she loved it. She also cherished the outdoors, especially camping trips and visits to state parks.
Above all else, Fran loved her family. When she loved, she loved with her whole heart. Though her family might argue she had another great love as well—watching sports on television.
Fran lived many roles in her life: daughter, sister, mother, and a truly wonderful Granny. She had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged, and you could always count on her to be your granny—whether you were family or just needed one.
In addition to her parents, Fran is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Jerry A. Ridings.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Meyer and his wife Suzanna; her son, Jerry L. Ridings and wife Rejeana of Quinlan, Texas; her daughter, TiaLisa Alpha and husband Paul of Oklahoma; and her daughter, Silvia Sue Reid of Colorado.
She also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren: Sonya Markle and husband Dusty, Christopher Ridings, Emily Ridings, Misty Kirk and husband Dallas, Robert Landon Markle, Jaden Brannon, Heather Brannon, Adam Reid and wife Joy, and Aaron Reid.
Fran was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 more on the way. We know she would have been absolutely smitten.
She will be missed in all the "nooks and crannies" of our heart.
This obituary is lovingly written by her undisclosed favorite granddaughter… who may or may not be regretting purple hair dye.
