Elsie MaeLena Burr Britton, born to Johnny and Maudie Burr in Durant Ok., has died at the age of 84.
It is the end of a family era, our beloved wife, mom, and mamo passed into paradise, surrounded by her four living children. She lived and loved fiercely. We mourn the loss of her twinkling smile while telling stories, full bellies after Thanksgiving meals, Lakeside bonfires, Sunday roasts, road trip Bible Stories, her love of plants and flowers, the color pink and the all-consuming love for her children and grandchildren, in which she instilled her unshakable, unwavering faith in God and his plan. We could mourn the unknowns of her springtime or the what ifs of her winter. Yet knowing she is now seeing the results of her genealogical passion brings the peace of a lakefront sunset and in time will be the soothing balm along the grain of her life remembered. How could we not celebrate such an end which in truth, as she often reminded us, is but another beautiful beginning?
She is survived by husband Alan Britton, daughters and son: Kathy Fuller, Pamela Larmouth, Clayton Britton, Jennifer Johnson, her grandchildren: Jared Karns, Joseph Karns, Desiree' Galbreath, Zachariah Rucker, Thaddeus Rucker, Terah Motzkus, Allie Larmouth, Alexis Sears, Lindsey Britton, Britton Hunting, Jeffrey Johnson, Dallin Johnson, and Ethan Johnson.
Preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Britton, grandchild, Jacob Karns and great grandchild Honoria Galbreath.
