Emory Bray, Jr. (“Rick”), 79, moved to his Heavenly home on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Rick was born on May 26, 1943, in Portsmouth, VA. At seventeen years of age, he joined the Marines and proudly served our country for 10 years, 2 months, and 16 days. After his service and until he retired, he was a professional driver for Greyhound Bus Lines and drove for several freight companies. Rick was married to Treva for thirty-three years, and along the way, gained a large bonus family who are grateful he was in their lives. A devoted patriot, Rick always wore a Marine cap proudly and was an advocate for flying our American flag properly and with pride. Before his health declined, he enjoyed fishing, participated in a bowling league, and was always an avid fan of baseball and football. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Boone McCoy, his brothers, Gary McCoy and John Hinson, his sister, Joye O’Neal, and his granddaughter, Zoe. He is survived by his wife, Treva, and her six children; LaVonda and her husband, Steve; Amanda and her husband Brian; Darla and her husband Brent; Dana and her husband Daniel; Brook and his wife Carmen; Audria and her husband Mark; 23 grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Carol Hinson; and his niece and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Treva requests donations be made to a cancer or diabetes research or charitable organization. Rick will be interred at the DFW National Cemetery
