David Long Obituary

David Dean Long, 73, of Wills Point, Texas passed away June 3rd 2021 following a short battle with cancer. David was the first of four boys born to Royal Dean and Phyllis Long on November 11th, 1947. David married Kathy Lucille Fant on March 23rd, 1968. David served in the US Marine Corp from 1965 to 1969 serving 2 tours in the Vietnam War.

David is survived by his wife of 53 years Kathy of Wills Point, TX. His daughter Lisa (James) Wood of Waverly, Ia., son David (Penny) Long of Wills Point, Texas.

David is survived by his three brothers Dennis (Shelly) Long, Doug Long, and Eric (Sheila) Long.

David was a proud grandfather of five grandchildren Travis, Preston, Kelsey, Cory, and Courtney. Also 8 greatgrandchildren.

David enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing with his family including family vacations to Wisconsin. He also enjoyed photography and printing and framing his photos. David spent much of his life in computer programming and as an IT professional.

A military service will be held at a later date at the Bertram Cemetery.
