David Harald Jenkins was born on August 9, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Mr. Lester Odell Jenkins and Elva Lee Germany Jenkins. David passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the age of 77.
He attended school at the Methodist Home in Waco, Texas. He enlisted into the United States Marines and honorably serviced his country until his discharge. He married Frances Louise Cook on January 16, 1969, in Palestine, Texas and she preceded him in death on September 10, 2008. David was a truck driver and a talented concrete finisher. He was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Alvarado, Texas. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, fishing, and playing bingo but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He was Superman to his daughters and a hero to his grandchildren. David was a very strong man and such an incredible storyteller that his grandchildren believed that he had wrestled a bear and could rip phone books in half.
He loved his family with all his heart. He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by his daughters, Sandra Bridges of Greenville, Shonna Petty of Granbury, Shelly Davis and husband Ronnie of Irving, Elva Baker of Granbury and Helen Quinn of Granbury; aunt, Dorothy Lagow of Alvarado; grandchildren, Danny Whitehead Jr., Kacey Coplin, David R. Coplin, Shawn M. Baker, Frankie Cheyenne Pendergraft, Dalton Baker, Tapianga Baker, Hayden Pendergraft, and Katy Jenkins; great grandchildren, Emily Garrison, Shelby Welch, Cash Coplin, Stephanie Welch, Melanie Welch, Kane Whitehead, Corbin Whitehead, Riley Whitehead, Nevaeh Strobl, Thor Whitehead, Greysen Strobl, Kashlyn Baker, Kayden Baker, Journie Baker, Serenity Mizell, Preslee Graham, Axel Whitmore, River Graham, and Ava Gonzales.
