Dana Marie Smith 68, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024, at her home in Greenville, Texas Both of her daughters were at her side.
She was born on December 23, 1955, to loving parents, Emilene and Russell Norton of Odessa, Texas.
Dana attended Odessa High School and graduated in the Class of 1974. She was a member of the swim team and other organizations. She was a true Broncho.
In October 1977, Dana married Doug Smith. Both of them loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and dancing. Dana and Doug had two daughters, Kristy and Kaleigh.
Many things brought joy to Dana’s life. She loved birdwatching, painting, attending concerts and watching her daughters play sports. Her life also included participating in her granddaughter's school events and spending time with family and friends. Spending time in the word of God was the dearest to her heart.
Dana was preceded in death by her parents, Emilene and Russell Norton. Her husband, Doug Smith.
Dana is survived by her two daughters: Kristy Leathers (Calvin) and granddaughter (Rylee) and Kaleigh Robertson (Jeremiah). Sister-in-law, Sissie Lucas (Joe) and many friends.
Dana was the light that reminded us that no matter the situation, the outcome was always brighter than the darkness we left behind. She loved everyone that crossed her path and was the reflection of God’s grace and mercy.
Celebration of Dana‘s life will be held at Harvest Bible Church in Greenville, Texas on October 12, 2024, at 11 AM.
