Cynthia Still-Stowe, age 76, of Wills Point, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 21, 2026. A memorial service will be at 6:30p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Lakeview Church at 11020 FM 751 in Quinlan with Pastor Adam Williams officiating.
Cynthia was born on December 5, 1950, in Sika, Alaska to Louis Guy Still and Joyce Ellen Hines. She moved to Seattle, Washington with her family before moving to Florida where she attended JB Hunt Trucking School in 1993 and met the love of her life while working for the same trucking company. She married Floyd Stowe on December 3, 1994, in Miami, Florida before moving to Texas, where she drove trucks for Frozen Foods Express in Lancaster from 1995 until her retirement in 2000. Cindy and Floyd owned and operated Yellow Rose Trucking of Texas in Wills Point from 2002-2010. During her trucking career, Cindy supported breast cancer and served as head of the Convoy for a Cure USA for 11 years. She was very active in Women in Trucking, promoting women truckers’ rights and also served as a senior independent freight broker. Being in a male dominated career, Cindy had a tough side and didn't put up with any guff from anyone. She also had a soft side that could be seen in the way she treated those she loved. She had a green thumb for plants and would have full conversations with them about how big and beautiful they were growing. She was a member of Lakeview Church and was involved in Christian Truckstop Ministries and traveling preschool. Cindy had an incredible talent for knitting, crocheting, quilting and personally handmade over 300 quilts for the Quilts of Valor program. She loved sailing and held a Captains sailing license including up to a four-mast license. Cindy was an active member and served her community through her involvement with the ladies Auxiliary, VFW and American Legion. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and tie dying projects.
She is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her husband of 31 years, Floyd Stowe of Wills Point; Sons, Robert McDonald and wife Terrie of Kent, Washington; John Mullins of Los Angeles, California; and Bret Diamond of New York City; Daughter, Melissa Stowe of Wills Point; Brother, John Reed Still and wife Barbara of Tenino, Washington; 7 Grandchildren; her best friend, Judy Lee of Lufkin; and her K9 kids, Skipper Oodles and Rockie. She was preceded in death by her best friend, Wanda Pate and her trucking dogs, Candy Girl and Duke.
