Christine Mary Kopta, age 75, died peacefully after battling cancer and kidney disease on August 3, 2024. She was surrounded by family in her home upon her passing.
Christine was born on Sunday, December 12, 1948, to parents Harold Chevalier and Shirley (Gordon) Chevalier in Chicago, IL and was raised in Holcombe, WI.
Christine loved dancing, fishing and shopping. If shopping were an Olympic sport, she would have gotten the gold medal. She was very proud of her Oneida Indian heritage and collected turtles, which were a symbol of her clan. She loved yellow roses and sunflowers. She loved to travel and even honeymooned in Greece in the 70’s. She had great inspirations and always wanted to see more of the world. No one could possibly match her passions. She will leave a great void in all the lives of her loved ones but will certainly be the life of the party in her afterlife.
She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Kopta III; brothers, Steve and Roy De La Rosa, and sister, Mary Parker. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Loretta and Robert Shampo, husband Frank Kopta, daughter and son-in law, Margie and Allen Nichols, son Michael Kopta; grandchildren, Kaden and Jacob Nichols, Ashlie and Steven Huckaby, and great-grandchildren Harper and Asher Huckaby.
