Cheryl Diane Mayes, 54, of Quinlan, TX gained her wings on December 28, 2021. She was born on March 28, 1967 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to William (Bill) and Shirley Anne Cupit. Cheryl grew up in the Airforce where she later settled in Burleson, TX. In 1999, she met the love of her life, Douglas (Charles) Mayes, and married on September 29, 2000, when they began their life journey together. Cheryl enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She also loved her music and plants. But more importantly, she loved every little time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Mayes; sons: Larry Mayes and wife SunnyLane Parpart, Caleb Mayes and fiancé’ Ellen Vanarsdale of Quinlan, Bowen Hawkins and wife Amy of Odessa, Grant Hawkins, of Odessa, Jesse Hawkins and wife Lindsey of Odessa; daughters: Bevin Hawkins and Franklin of Odessa, Brea Hawkins of Odessa; grandchildren: Devin, Akiva, Donovan, Daxton, Dakota, McKinlee, Saige, Grace, Lois, Logan, Addalie, Tyrien and Larson; brothers, Michael Cupit of Hurst; sister, Sheila Crawford of Crowley, TX; as well as a large amount of cousins, nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-laws: Michael Shawn Mayes and Derek Mayes.
