Charlene Yvonne Rappaport, a kindhearted soul whose strength and devotion touched all who knew her, passed away on May 21, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 71. Born on September 24, 1953, in Van Nuys, California, Charlene lived a life marked by love, resilience, and thoughtful gestures.
Charlene made her home in Canoga Park, California, and Wills Point, Texas, creating a warm haven for her family. She worked as a cashier at Eckerds in Texas before dedicating herself to her role as a stay-at-home wife. A devoted fan of soap operas, Charlene cherished her ritual of watching The Young and the Restless, a time when interruptions were very discouraged.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Joe Rappaport; her daughter, Tina Curtin; and seven treasured grandchildren. Charlene was preceded in death by her son, James Donato Jr.; her brother, Lee Blake; her sister, Charlotte de la Haba; and her parents, Charlotte Blake and Robert Lee Blake.
Charlene was stubborn, opinionated, and tough as nails, yet her kindhearted nature defined her legacy. A loving mother, she always checked in on her family and friends, ensuring they felt her care. She never missed a birthday, faithfully sending cards to celebrate each milestone, a testament to her thoughtfulness. Her fierce love and quiet kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
In Charlene's memory, may we honor her kind heart, her unwavering spirit, and the warmth she shared through every card and caring moment.
