Chad Wayne Greenfield passed peacefully from this life in the early hours of July 5, 2022, and early in life at only age 53. His beloved wife Tamara was at his side.
His passing left an enormous void in the lives of those who dearly loved him, but he generously left us a legacy of incredible courage, strength, patience, kindness and love.
Chad learned at a young age that life is fragile, that life is not always fair, and that life is what you make it. After surviving a tragic accident as a teenager, he adapted to life from the perspective of a wheelchair, and from that chair he chose to be an achiever. He earned a college degree, worked at a successful career and moved from California to be with his Mother in Texas after his Father passed and she became terminally ill.
It was love of his parents that brought him to Texas and it was love that made him stay when he met the future Mrs. Greenfield, the light of his life, Tamara Cockrell. Their home was filled with love for each other, diverse music and creative cooking, along with more love for a couple of adopted Labrador Retrievers. All who knew Chad know that he loved to talk sports of any kind.
Chad was preceded in death by his parents, Ola and Mary Jean Greenfield, and his Best Girl Lucy, the Chocolate Lab. He is survived by his wife, Tamara and a host of extended family and friends.
There will be a private memorial to honor Chad’s memory. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, those who would like to do something special in Chad’s memory please donate to the DFW Labrador Retriever Rescue. Tamara will continue to donate her time to this organization along with their dog Bodhi.
Chad's memorial is on their website here: https://www.dfwlabrescue.org/donations.html under the Memorial Gifting section.
