Betty Williams Obituary

Betty Sue Williams, née Cole, known by most as Sue, passed away peacefully at her son's home in Wills Point, TX on November 14, 2021, at the age of 83. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 2:00PM, at Myrtle Springs Cemetery at 2185 F.M. 2225 in Quitman, Texas 75783.

She was born near the Texas/Louisiana border (Waskom) in 1938 and spent most of her early life living in both states. She loved telling others about her family in Louisiana and the colorful, strong women in her family that helped raise her. These women instilled a lifelong love of cooking and feeding others in her, and those that knew her were never hungry or wanting. Her father worked in the oil business, and they eventually settled in Mineola, TX, which is where she met her first husband and father of her children, Thomas Earl Williams, and graduated high school (Mineola High School).

In the years following, she moved to El Paso and then back to the greater Dallas area, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She had three children: Mitchell Williams (1958–current), Taniya Sue Stovall (1959–current), and Thomas Jeffrey Williams (1965–current). She was a devoted mother to her children and then later became a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and spent the majority of her life dedicated to the care of those in need and those that couldn't take care of themselves.

Sue was a lifelong Christian and reader. She read her bible daily, and she lived in many different times and places throughout human civilization through books. She loved talking to her grandchildren about the things she read and the cultures she learned about as well as how certain cultures related to their family.

She was also devoted to her fur babies throughout her life and never met an animal she didn't love.

Sue was and is loved deeply and will be missed greatly. Her memory is sustained and lives on through those she helped throughout her life as well as her family.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Cole and Ruth Butler Cole, as well as her brother, James Cole.

She is survived by her son, Mitchell Williams, her daughter and son-in-law, Taniya and Jerry Stovall, her son, Thomas Jeffrey Williams; her grandchildren: Jennifer Sanow (and her husband, Tony), Frances Serrano, Jasmine Harmon, Ashley Stovall, Maegan Vazquez, Mason Stovall, and Lindsey Mirzadeh (and husband, Daniel); her great-grandchildren: Ethan Giordano, Lucas Sanow, Ayden Harmon, and Sophia Sanow; and her beloved fur baby and constant companion, Betsy.
