Betty Sue Carruth Traylor, age 72 of Farmersville passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held on a later date.
Betty Sue Carruth Traylor was born on February 15, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Mr. John D. Carruth and Malie C. Merrell. She enjoyed collecting coins, rings, crosses, and horses.
Betty was a talented leather craftsman and created beautiful saddles for many years. She tooled designs on thousands of saddles by hand. She also loved art and enjoyed painting. She loved all muscle cars but especially the 1967 Pontiac GTO, which she once owned. She enjoyed playing games on her phone and watching Swamp People on television.
She was dearly loved a will be greatly missed by her children, Sherrie Byler of Abilene; Michelle Dement of Farmersville; Amanda Lupez and husband Johnny of McKinney; Crystal Hosfield and husband Kevin of McKinney; Amber Dement of Bonham; and Dale Dement of Farmersville; grandchildren, Lee, Ashley, Valerie, Kali, Jeff, Candy, Marques, Eamon, Daymian, and Cameron; great grandchildren Brantley, Alaina, Eli, Aaron, Joe, Richard, Cecelia; siblings, Beverly Shinder, Larry Carruth, and Andy Carruth; and her kitty kid, Kidder. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Christine.
