Barbara June Martin, 88, of Greenville, TX, born February 29, 1936, has passed away on February 24, 2025, at home. She was the daughter of the late Alice Ward Terry and Loyd “Bud” Terry. She was born and raised in Rains County, TX, and graduated from Miller Grove High School. Barbara worked in billing and was an outside saleswoman for The Office Place in Greenville, TX for 20 years, and then, she was a faithful caregiver to her mother Alice for many years. She was a devoted wife of 41 years to the late Billy Dean Martin, and a loving, nurturing, strong mother for her four children. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, and son, Bill Jr., her parents, her brother Loyd Terry, and her granddaughters, Ashley Sanford, and Rebecca Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Terri Murphey of Grand Prairie, TX, and Tanya Walker and husband Sammy of Greenville, TX, her son, Steve Martin and wife Cathy of Houston, TX, her sister Shirley Sayes of Pineville, Louisiana, and her brother Dr. James Terry and wife Fran of Mesquite, TX, as well as fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. All who knew her loved her and will forever remember her fondly. Barbara was an avid reader, lover of games, cards, crosswords, and spending time with her family. A good game of Scrabble was always a favorite. She was a devoted member to Park St. Baptist Church of Greenville, TX. Her favorite scripture was Matthew 28:20 - “...And remember that I am always with you until the end of time.” Barbara was a one-of-a-kind human being, and her existence on this Earth brightened the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed, forever.
