Alan Lee Tyler age 66, of Quinlan, passed away on January 24, 2023, in Greenville Texas.
Alan was born on June 16, 1956, in Greenville Michigan to Gerald Robert and Margaret Marie Skinner Tyler, he attended Greenville Michigan Elementary, middle school and High School and was raised in the surrounding area of Michigan. He worked in his grandmother’s restaurant in Greenville Michigan for 8 years as a dishwasher to head cook, later worked as a landscaper, eventually became a truck driver for Sysco Foods, an independent trucker with Fleetline Ind. and then with National Freight for 15 years. In his lifetime became a US Army Auto Mechanic. In 1974 he joined the National Guard of Michigan, served eleven months in Active US Army, was honorably discharged from the US Army NG July 2, 1980, in Dallas. In 1980 he moved to Texas and on October 29, 1983, he married the love of his life Christene Barton. Alan loved fishing, canoeing, gardening, watching football, and westerns on TV. He loved helping others, if you needed help, he was there, a very caring, giving man.
Alan is survived by his wife Christene, uncle Art Skinner and wife Sandy of Michigan, 3 sons, Lee A. Tyler and wife Christina Tyler, Nathan E. Tyler, Gregory M. Tyler, 2 daughters, Catherine Johnson and husband Joshua Johnson, Darcy L. Tyler Banister, 4 brothers Terry, Gerry, Jeff and wife Marney, Michael all of Michigan, 4 sisters, Pamela Kyser and husband Larry, Sheena Tyler Sanders, Rhonda Simon and husband Ken, all from Michigan, Christine Tyler of Alaska, and 7 grandchildren, Landon Tyler age 15, Hunter Alan Tyler age 3, Dawson Tyler age 21, Blake Banister age 16, Tyler Banister age 11, Ayla Johnson age 7, Alaina Tipton age 8, and many extended family and friends.
Alan is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Robert Tyler, and mother Margaret Marie Skinner McMillian, sister Debarah, and brothers Bobby and Jimmy.
