William Van Ross Sr., 81, of Wills Point went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 5, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services celebrating William’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Judge Hershey Barnett officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Restland Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00PM on Thursday, August 8, 2019.
Serving as pallbearers: Mike Gaffney, John Thompson, Cody Wingfield, Tyler Lambright, Van Plummer and Kevin Tomasek.
William was born on November 11, 1937 in Dallas, Texas. He is the son of the late Richard and Alberta Aston Ross. He was raised and educated in Dallas. William proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1954 thru 1957. William married the former Miss Clara Nell Owen on June 30, 1995. He worked as a sales estimator and learned computer drafting at the age of 70. He was dedicated to his job for over 62 years. He was a lifetime member of the Tawakoni Bass Club and served as an officer and the reporter. William is also preceded in death by his son Robert Clay Ross and brother Richard Ross. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. For over 40 years of his life he enjoyed bowling. William loved watching his grandkids swim and spending time with family.
He is loved and will be missed by his wife Clara Ross; sons William Ross Jr. and wife Kerri of Edgewood, Kevin Wingfield of Forney; daughters Michelle Whitsell and husband Lenny of Forney, Brenda Gail Warnick of Lancaster, CA; brother Donald Wayne Ross of Dallas; and multiple grandkids and great-grandkids.
