March 4, 1940 ~ June 7, 2017 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Lance Carnal passed away on June 7, 2017 in his daughter's home in Commerce TX. Memorial services celebrating Lance’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Mesquite.

He is survived by his children Pam, Erik, Michelle, and Jim, his grandchildren Cole, Jacob, Scott, Claire and Ella, his sister Kathy and her husband, Tom, his brother Jack, his nieces and nephews Lisa, Danny, Romey, Gwen, and John, as well as numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Carol Cook, his life partner Rene Acosta, his mom Gladys, and his dad EJ.

Lance was born in Corpus Christi in 1940. He married Earlene Stine and, soon after, graduated from SMU with a bachelors of divinity in 1966.

He was a Methodist pastor for several years, then became a probation officer in the 70s. He worked for Stokes construction and owned a bar in Houston called The Other End. Then in the early 80s, he created Tejas Air, which he owned for 35 years. His name was added to the Wall of Tolerance in November 2005 for standing against hate. He was a long time member of Bering Memorial UMC and considered the congregation his family. He had two daughters, Pam and Michelle, whom he loved so much.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Bering Memorial Support Network (contact larryl@beringsupportnetwork.org) and the ASPCA (contact www.aspca.org)
