Raymond Howey Sr. Obituary

Raymond Leslie Howey Sr., 94, of Quinlan went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 9, 2019 in Tyler, Texas. Funeral services celebrating Raymond’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Ingram Funeral Home with Brother Don Tisdale officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Graveside service and Interment will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Oakwood Cemetery in Lisbon, North Dakota.

Raymond was born on March 24, 1925 in Lisbon, North Dakota. He is the son of the late Abram and Edith Hanna Howey. He was raised and educated in Lisbon and attended Ransom County Schools. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII. He was a POW and an Omaha Beach Veteran. Raymond married the former Miss Jacqueline Carseller on July 6, 1946 and they made their home in Lisbon and later Dallas, Tx., until her passing on October 5, 1969. He worked as a Sears service technician for many years. He is also preceded in death by his son Gary Howey, brothers Earl, Delbert & Clayton, sisters Grace, Isabell, Helen, Gertrude, Ruth, Florence & Lois. Raymond fell in love a second time and he married the former Miss Susan V. Evans in June of 1973 and they made their home in Quinlan until her passing in August of 2013. He loved to fish and gardening, he always grew the most beautiful tomatoes. He built his own Ski Boat and was a slalom water skier and always enjoyed spending time on the water. Raymond was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Quinlan. He was very handy with tools and built his own home. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

He is loved and will be missed by his sons Raymond Howey Jr. and wife Denise of San Angelo, TX, Allen Howey and wife Cindy of Somers, IA; daughters Michelle Cagle of Quinlan, Sharolyn Little and husband Jack of Wills Point; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
