Paula Durham, 58, went to be with Jesus on April 8, 2019 at UT Health East Texas following a battle with cancer
Born on June 6, 1960 in Ennis, TX to Paul Dwayne Brooks and Jettie Lucille Costlow, she lived most of her life in Chandler, TX and was a member of Martin Springs Baptist Church.
Paula leaves behind her husband of 41 years, Curtis D. Durham; her children, David Brooks, CJ Gilliam, Reginald Durham, Curtis “Buger” Durham and Emily Durham; her daughter-in-law, Abbe Durham; grandchildren, Gavin Smith, Bianca Gilliam, Ava Durham and Adeline Durham; her sister, Glenda (Batson) Selman; her brother, Danny Brooks and many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Brooks.
She was a devout wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and would always cook for any and every one that would come to her house. She also enjoyed gardening, crafting and spending time with her family and friends. She was a friend to anyone who crossed her path and her joyful spirit could light up a room.
Services will be held on April 20th at 1:00PM at Martin Springs Baptist Church in Chandler, TX with Pastor Josh Smiley presiding. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all who helped, prayed and donated during their time of need.
