Nancy was born on October 31, 1946 in Glade Springs, Virginia. She is the daughter of the late Thomas Grady and Maggie Emaline Trent. She was raised and educated in Glade Springs, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland where she graduated from Polytechnic High School. Nancy was swept off her feet by Leland “Van” John Van Skike and he moved her to Texas after they were married. He enjoyed spoiling her, traveling in their trailer, having friendly get-togethers and cookouts until his passing after 43 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Thomas Grady Trent Jr., Jack Trent; sisters Mary Arlene Barney and Ruth Davis. Nancy worked as a sales clerk at Save Mart and Margie’s for many years. Nancy’s favorite spot was her barstool in the kitchen where she considered herself a ‘foody’ while indulging in her beer and ice cream! She liked living on Lake Tawakoni for the past 42 years and was an avid animal lover. In recent years she had discovered the world Facebook and always loved spending time with her family.

She is loved and will be missed by her daughter Debbie Baldwin of Anna; grandchildren Amanda Beth Bigelow & Charles Blake Bigelow of Anna, Trenton Earl Chaffin & Cassie Buchanon of Tyler, Eric Wayne Chaffin & Tiffany Baugh of Austin; great-grandchildren Pierce Bennet Chaffin, Nika Baugh, Reason Chaffin, Korbin Vohn Steele, Jericho Cash Bigelow, Trinity Claire Bigelow, Juno Eve Bigelow and Charles Jace Bigelow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
