Mickey Jim Peterson 79 of Winnsboro, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Emory, Texas. Graveside services under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, Texas will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Little Hope Cemetery in Winnsboro with Bro. Ronny Spence officiating.

Mickey was born July 13, 1933 in Lamesa, Texas. He is the son of the late James Frederick Peterson and Erma Edgmon Peterson. He was raised and attended school in Lamesa. He entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. After his military stay, he returned to Texas where he drove a truck for many years for J.C. Penney, then later for Lone Star Trucking. He married the former Miss Shirley Ann Yates on April 6, 1980 and they made their home in Balch Springs before moving to Winnsboro in 1993. Mickey enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and going fishing in his spare time.

He is loved and will be missed by his loving wife of 33 years Shirley; sons, Jeff Peterson of Garland, Martin Lane of Madisonville, Brian Lane & wife Michele Kolodey of Little Elm and Jason Lane & wife Kristin of Plano; daughters, Charlotte Peterson of Garland and Deborah Miller & husband Jack of Mesquite; Nine Grandchildren
