Lionel "Corey" Lanham

Lionel Corey Lanham, 48, of Royse City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 20, 2019.  Funeral services celebrating Corey’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Poetry Hall at The Springs Event Venue, 10227 CR 2426, Terrell, Texas 75160 with Charlie Beliew officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at 6:00 P.M. at Smyrna Cemetery in Rains County.

Corey was born October 13, 1970 in Greenville, Texas. He is the son of Michael Edwin Lanham and Wanda Lou Sancillo. He was raised in Texas and graduated from Millsap High School before attending Richland College, where he received his Associate’s Degree in Construction Management.  He was a veteran, serving four years in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer.  On November 21, 1992 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mineral Wells, Texas he married the love of his life Miss Beverly Ray McClanahan and they were happily married for nearly 27 years. Corey was a commercial construction superintendent for many years, his final position was with Mycon Construction.  Although he was a workaholic, Corey’s “hobby” was his family ~ his wife and children.  He was often offered company hunting and fishing trips but always turned them down to spend time with his wife and kids.  He worked hard to provide for his family and took care of them without any second thought to personal sacrifice.  Everything he did was done out of love and he always made sure they were well provided for.  He was enthusiastic about firearms, loved to tinker with things and make interesting projects at home.  He was viewed as one of the most honorable, honest, trustworthy and protective men anyone ever knew.  He is preceded in death by his son Cameron Cole Lanham, two brothers Christopher Ryan Lanham and Michael Chad Lanham, grandparents Bill Lanham, Mary Lanham, Jim McBride and Marry Lou Eads and stepfather Ralph Andrew Sancillo.

He is loved and will always be missed by his wife Beverly; mother Wanda Lou Sancillo; father Michael Edwin Lanham; son Blake Andrew Lanham; daughters Brittany Paige, Caitlin Brook and Christen Bailey Lanham; sisters Casey Lee Dickey and husband Robert and Jessica Ann Forrest.
