Mr. Jerry Leo Taylor passed away on August 21st, 2017 in Malakoff, TX at the age of 67. Jerry is survived by his children- Jason Taylor of Tyler, TX, Jaclyn and Roger Dawson of Greenville, TX, Michael and Julie Pryor of New Orleans, LA, and Laci Taylor of Dallas, TX- along with his grandchildren- Reah and Reagan Dawson, Micah and Rylee Pryor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Cleo Taylor of Price, TX and Billie Sue Watkins of New Iberia, LA.

He was born on the 31st of March, 1950 in Tyler TX to Virgil Cleo and Billie Sue Taylor and was raised in Trinidad, TX. Jerry worked as a lineman, truck driver and utility worker at Texas Power & Light for many years as well as volunteered as a fireman for The Trinidad Volunteer Fire Department. He moved to Reklaw, TX where he enjoyed a simple life of hunting, fishing and building in his community. To know Jerry, was to love him. The family would like to thank Cedar Lake Nursing Home for their attentive compassion and care during his stay.

A memorial is scheduled for this Saturday, August 26th at 2pm at Trinity Baptist Church in Trinidad, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jerry's life.  In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org would be greatly appreciated.
