Frances Ruth Applegate Holbert, 79, of Royse City went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services celebrating Frances’ life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Pastor Lucas McManus officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Hooker Ridge Cemetery in Hunt County. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Serving as Pallbearers: David Coones, Kevin Coones, Brandon Robinson, Britany Sims, Nikki Coones, Annie Palmer, Jerrime Sims, Christopher Sims and Kelli Sims.
Frances was born on June 10, 1939 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late Maynard and Minnie Mauldin Applegate. She was raised in Hot Springs where she attended Freeona High School. She learned to play the drums at the age of 50 and joined a band. Frances married the love of her life, Harold Brookshires. He played the guitar in her band and they loved to travel especially to the Pisgah National Forrest in North Carolina. She was also preceded in death by her sons Geordie and Clint Whisenhunt and five siblings. She enjoyed singing, playing cards and board games, gardening, fishing and canning her own foods. She was a wonderful Mother and a great Memaw who took care of her entire family. .
She is loved and will be missed by daughters Gladys Coones and husband David of Royse City, Mini Robinson and husband Edward of Point; grandchildren David Bret Coones, Britany Sims, John Whisenhunt, Kevin Coones, Brandon Robinson and Nikki Coones; great-grandchildren Jessica Bass, Adran Gonzales, Annie Palmer, Christopher Sims, Kelli Sims, Dominck Whisenhunt, Jaden Robinson, Cameron Robinson, Kayleigh Robinson, Bella Coones, Cason Robinson and Cooper Robinson; and nine siblings.
