Alpha "Ferne" Bechtol Obituary

Alpha “Ferne” Bechtol, 94, of Quinlan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 13, 2019 in Quinlan. No services are planned at this time.

Ferne was born on October 27, 1924 in Mesquite, Texas. She is the daughter of the late Frederick and Czarina Markrum Borchardt. She was raised and educated in Mesquite. Ferne married Mr. Johnnie Bechtol in 1944 and they made their home in Dallas. She worked as a secretary for General Motors before moving to Quinlan in 1972. She then went to work for the Quinlan ISD as a secretary until her retirement in 1998. Ferne was also preceded in death by Johnnie in 1986 and all 15 of her siblings. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is loved and will be missed by her daughters Susan Richison & husband Curtis of Cumby, Sharon Anderton & husband James of Quinlan; grandchildren Jennifer Gilbreath & husband Jeremy of Wiley, Gary Hall & wife Heather of Plano, Melissa Warden & husband Colin of Quinlan, Jim Anderton of Quinlan and Megan Teat & husband Jason of Grapevine; great-grandchildren Jenna, Jaylee, Evan, Ryan, Alyssin, Kent and Madeleine.
