Vanessa Sherrod Obituary

Vanessa Adele Sherrod, age 54, of Wills Point, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, April 22, 2024, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.

Vanessa Adele Sherrod was born on April 22, 1969, in Dallas, Texas to Mr. James Edwin Sherrod and Juanita Prather Forbus. She was raised in Irving and attended Irving High School. Vanessa enjoyed spending time with her sisters and going to flea markets and garage sales. She enjoyed researching and collecting glass, jewelry, and crystal. She had an incredible talent for refurbishing furniture and creating unusual shabby chic pieces. Vanessa had a compassionate heart and loved helping people. She was a dependable friend that would drop everything to be there for someone in need. She will be remembered for her head strong attitude and for standing her ground. She had a huge impact on those around her and she will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Jackie 'Jack' Forbus on May 12, 2013, and sister, Karen Sherrod on September 11, 2007.

She is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her mother, Juanita Forbus of Wills Point; sons, Rene Christopher Jade Sherrod of Grand Prairie and John Destasio of New Jersey; daughter, Victoria LePeige Compton and boyfriend Brady Huff of Wills Point; sisters, Gloria Melton of West Tawakoni, Brenda Sherrod and husband Charlie Drury of Wills Point, Tammy Graham of Wills Point, Jessica 'Sissy' Patterson and husband Ricky of Albrey and Tina Sherrod and husband Martin of Quinlan. And grandchildren, Christopher Sherrod and Kailee Bellanger both of Grand Prairie and numerous nephews and nieces.
