Josefina Candelaria Benavidez Sanchez, aged 79, peacefully departed this life surrounded by her loving family in Royse City, Texas on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Born on February 2, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Eugenio and Nicolasa Benavidez.
Josefina was a woman of immense love and grace, renowned for her impeccable sense of style and elegance. She adorned herself with the sparkle of jewelry, the allure of scented lotions and perfumes, and meticulously polished nails, embodying a timeless sense of class and sophistication.
With a keen eye for treasures, Josefina’s love for shopping led her to thrift stores, antique shops, and garage sales, where she delighted in finding unique pieces to add to her collection. Her home reflected her coastal roots and unwavering love for her family, with every corner adorned with beautiful seashells and photos capturing cherished moments with her loved ones. Every detail served as a testament to her deep connection to her hometown of Corpus Christi and acted as a constant reminder of her family.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Josefina's warm presence and nurturing spirit created countless cherished memories with her family. She found joy in simple pleasures like cultivating her garden oasis, casting her line into the waters while fishing, and exploring new destinations during her travels. Her culinary talents were unmatched; she cherished the bonding experience of cooking together and filling her table with delectable delights, bringing happiness to all who gathered.
In her quiet moments, Josefina indulged in crafting exquisite creations and testing her luck with lottery tickets, all while enjoying her cherished cup of coffee and a concha. Her faithful feline companion, Simone, was a constant source of comfort and companionship by her side.
Josefina was preceded in death by her parents Eugenio and Nicolasa Benavidez, her beloved husband Benito Sanchez, brothers Lucio and Benancio Benavidez, and sisters Maximina Sanchez, Alicia Contreras, and Elida Gonzalez.
She is survived by her brother Eugenio Benavidez Jr., sisters Natividad Diaz, Lupe Diaz, and Rosita Diaz, children Corina Ruiz, Linda Miranda, Santos Sanchez, Benito Sanchez Jr, Doris Valadez, and Anita Olguin, eleven grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter on the way.
A rosary will be held at Ingram Funeral Home from 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall, TX. The graveside service will take place at 1:00P.M. at IOOF Cemetery in Quinlan, TX, followed by a reception at Rancho El Centenario 3313 PR 2558 Royse City Tx. 75189. From 4:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. where family and friends will gather to honor Josefina's life and cherished special memories of her remarkable legacy.
