Barbara Perry Obituary

Barbara Arlene Perry, age 89 of Quinlan Tx, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday March 27, 2024. Barbara was born on March 15, 1935, in Queens, NY, to Thomas Joseph Kenny and Mary Catherine Kenny. She was raised in the New York area and graduated from St. Agnes High School in Queens, NY. Barbara took singing lessons and performed in Carnegie Hall at the age of 16. She sang Ave Maria, which led to a standing ovation. Barbara worked at Canada Dry in New York, and at a bank once she moved to Pennsylvania. She also waitressed at Lucky Dot Hotel in Pecks Pond, Pa. Barbara moved to Pennsylvania in 1984, where she met and married her love, Edward Malen Perry on June 2, 1990, and would have been married for 34 years this year. She was also a nurse’s aide/caregiver, substitute teacher, and retired from Walmart while making her home in Big Oaks in Quinlan. Barbara and Edward loved going to Padre Island each year with several friends. They sold their home in Quinlan, Tx in December of 2022 and bought a motor home to travel wherever they decided to go. They made trips to Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Colorado in 2023. 

In her younger years, she raced street cars. She loved to watch her great grandson, Carson Bolden, race on TV and give him pointers any chance she could, whether yelling at the tv or when he was telling her all about his weekend when he was home. She also told him every time they talked that she was going to climb in the car with him to ride. She never had any fear. She loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. 

Barbara was also a member of St. John’s the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell, Tx. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Kenny, sister Maureen Bossert, son Frank “TJ” Friedrich on 12/31/23, son in law‘s, Barry Fillans and John Henneforth, and grandson, Barry Fillans, Jr. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Frank S. Friedrich and second husband Anthony D'Armiento.

She is greatly missed already and loved most by her Husband, Edward Perry of Quinlan Tx, Sister, Janice Malendes of Moscow Pa, Daughters, Marianne Fillans of Madison Township Pa, Laurie Henneforth of Lords Valley Pa, Suanne Friedrich of Quinlan Tx, with whom she resided, Joanne Rogers and husband Chris of Lords Valley Pa, Stepdaughters, Mary Maunz and husband Cliff of Berthoud Co, and Lisa Perry-Smith and Fiancé John Jones of Lords Valley Pa. Granddaughters, Kara Bolden and husband Bryan, and Jamie Clark and husband Brad. Grandsons-Hal Fillans, John Henneforth Jr, Chris Henneforth, Erik Perry and wife Emily, Nicholas Perry and fiancée Chelsey, Frank LaDolce, Michael Rogers and wife Jenna, Chance Smith, Liam Smith, and Seamus Smith. Great Grandchildren-Carson Bolden, Caiden Perry, Azalea Swainston, Gavin Clark, Sadie Clark, Myer Rogers, and Nathan Rogers. 

Mass will be at St. John the Apostle Church in Terrell, Tx. On April 11,2024.

Rosary will be at 10:30 and Mass at 11:00 am.

Services will be held on April 15, 2024, at 6pm at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, Tx. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests to make a donation to a foundation fighting Dementia.
