Velma Jo (Weathers) Boyd-Campbell

March 27, 1940 ~ December 14, 2016 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Velma Jo Boyd-Campbell, 76, of Quinlan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in Dallas. Funeral services celebrating Velma’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Ingram Funeral Home with Dick Boyd officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Able Springs Cemetery in Kaufman County. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, December 16, 2016.

 

Velma was born March 27, 1940 in Quinlan. She is the daughter of the late John Thomas Weathers Sr. and Ada Hendrickson Weathers. She was raised, attended school and lived her entire life in Quinlan. Velma married A.W. Boyd on May 14, 1957. They raised 6 children in Quinlan before his passing on July 1, 1998. She was the administrator at ICT since 2001 until present. Velma married Bob Campbell on October 24, 2016. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Terrell and was a strong supporter of the Youth Group at her church. She was very generous to many good causes. She was also preceded in death by her son John A. Boyd on January 13, 2014 and brothers John Thomas Weathers Jr and David James Weathers, sisters Mary Jane Allison and Jackie Rae Weathers. She enjoyed traveling the Southern States, growing flowers and reading. She had a kind heart and treasured and displayed every single memento given to her by her children or grandchildren.

 

She is loved and will be missed by her husband Bob Campbell of Quinlan; sons Randy Boyd and wife Glenda of Quinlan, Dick Boyd and wife Brenda of Terrell; daughters Janet Bowles and Homer Bush of Wills Point, Beverly Hanna and husband Ken of E. Tawakoni, Karen Samples of Terrell; 18 Grandchildren, 40 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Stepchildren Carolyn Campbell, Robin Campbell, Bobby Campbell, Scott Campbell and numerous other Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
