Ronnie Carl Sherman Sr. 78 of Wills Point went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 6, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services celebrating Ronnie’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Chaplain Richard Moore officiating, burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday.

 

Kenny Sherman, Shane Wood, Tim Wood, Bryan Chaney, Raymond Chaney, Tony Doughty, Larry Keils and William Sherman will serve as pallbearers.

 

Ronnie was born January 25, 1938 in Dallas. He is the son of the late John Polasek and Elizabeth Edna Long. He was raised by his grandparents Jack and Leda Sherman in Oak Cliff where je was educated. Ronnie was a long haul truck driver for many years. He married the former Ms. Joanne Schiel Keils on March 1, 11986 and they made their home in Mesquite before moving to the Lake Tawakoni community in June 1996. Joanne preceded him in death on April 11, 2009. He is also preceded by a daughter, Brenda Turner in 1988, a son, Ronnie Sherman Jr. in 22013 and by four brothers, Weldon Polasek, Royce Wayne Sherman, Vic Sherman and Jackie Lynn Long. Ronnie enjoyed spray painting, playing “42”, solitaire and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

 

He is loved and will be missed by daughters, Sandra Chaney and Betty Doughty both of Greenville. Sons, Kenneth Sherman and James Sherman both of Wills Point, Charles Sherman & wife Phyllis of Inlis, Fl.

Step-Daughters, Charlotte Keys & husband Bill of Mt. Vernon, Kathy Kettle of Kaufman and Mozelle Edgeworth of Arlington. Step-Sons, Wm “Bill” Keils of Odessa, Tommy Keils & wife Julie of Rockwall, Danny Keils  & wife Julie of Mesquite, George Keils of Lamesa and Larry Keils of Greenville. 13 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, 16 Step-Grandchildren and 10 Step-Great-Grandchildren. Brothers, Sam Polasek   & wife Martha of Quinlan, Bobby Polasek & wife Bobbie Jo of Terrell, John Polasek and David Polasek both of Seagoville.
