Percy “Buddy” Edward Pope, 79, of Quinlan passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at his home. A Memorial service celebrating Buddy’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Ingram Funeral Home.

Buddy was born on December 9, 1936 in Terrell, Texas. He is the son of the late Andrew Pope Sr. and Bertha Helmer Pope. He proudly served his Country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. Buddy married the former Ms. Virginia Priest on December 15, 1979. He worked for Anderson Chemical Company in Dallas for 30 years and he retired in 1979. Following his retirement, he owned and operated Recon Drum Service from 1979-2004 when he finally retired. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Andrew Pope Jr., James Pope, Guy Pope, Cecil Pope, Homer Pope and sister Lucille Bailey. He relocated from Garland to the Lake Tawakoni Community about 15 years ago. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Cowboys & Rangers fan.

He is loved and will be missed by his wife Virginia Pope of Quinlan; sister Sadie Reiken of Irving, sons Tommy and wife Debra of Georgia, Richard and wife Melissa of West Tawakoni, Floyd  of Greenville, Joe  and wife Stacey of Italy, Texas and Billy  of Dallas; daughter Cindy  and husband Nazario of Poetry; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
