August 26, 1943 ~ January 5, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Loren “Brad” Young, 73, of Quinlan went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Greenville.  Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Ingram Funeral Home with Dr. Don Gray officiating; interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday.

 

Pallbearers:  Charlie Thompson, Ed Smith, Terry Burden, Todd Darter, Mike Baker, Tony Pippin, Carl Taber, Vernon Pippin, and Lloyd Lancaster.

 

Brad was born August 26, 1943 in Quinlan to the late James Charlie Young and Leona Bumpus Young.  He spent his early life in Quinlan where he was raised and attended school.  In 1961, Brad joined the U. S. Navy, serving two years before joining the U. S. Army where he served during the Vietnam War.  He retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of honorable service.  Retirement from the military brought Brad back home to Quinlan where he later worked for nine years as a truck driver for ECOLAB.  On December 23, 1991, he married the former Miss Thelma Louise Reagan in Durant, Oklahoma.  Brad and Louise made their home in Quinlan where he was self-employed in many different adventures from dirt hauling to property ownership.  He will also be remembered as a very giving person and asking for nothing in return.  Brad is preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Jean Baker, brothers Sammy Young, Noble (Bud) Young, and Charles (Cooter) Young.

 

He is loved and will be missed by his wife Louise; step-daughter Sherry Chennault and husband Jimmy of Commerce; step-son Jacky Goleman and wife Kathy of Quinlan; four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann Jonker of Dallas; brothers Joe Young and wife Phyllis of Dallas and Frank “Penny” Young of Greenville.
