Leah Nell (Clayton) Dooley

Leah Nell Dooley, 86, of Mesquite went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Terrell. Graveside services celebrating Leah’s life will be held under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Sunnyvale with Judge Hershey Barnett officiating.

 

Leah was born on July 31, 1930 in Greenville. She is the daughter of the late Stephen Leonard Clayton and Ina Mae Wallace Clayton. She was raised and attended school in Greenville and she went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree. She was a designer of decorative stain glass. She lived in many places including Abilene, Colorado and then to Alaska before returning to the Metro area in the 1970’s. She married Gene Dooley and they made their home in Mesquite, he preceded her in death on June 12, 2011. She enjoyed decorating and traveling.

 

She is loved and will be missed by her sons Dolphus Lee Day Jr of Mesquite and Danny Day of Forney; grandchildren Emily Day, Ethan Day, David Lee Day, and Shaun Day and three great-grandchildren.
