Lawanna "Jeanie" Craig

December 25, 1951 ~ February 9, 2017 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Lawanna Jean “Jeanie” Craig 65 of Lone Oak went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, February 9, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services celebrating Jeanie’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 13, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Syndor officiating; burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.  Visitation will be Sunday 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at Ingram Funeral Home.

Pallbearers:  Wayne Hayes, Jimmy Trice, Mark Hawkins, Paul Woodley, Brandon Van Huss, and Joey Craig.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Harry Himelright and Jim Banning.

Jeanie was born December 25, 1951 in Midland, Texas to William Leon Hayes and Joyce Grady Hayes.  She was raised and attended school in Midland.  After graduating high school, Jeanie moved to Dallas and pursued a career as a beautician and worked at J. C. Penney in North Park Town Center.  Jeanie soon met the man of her dreams and in Dallas, Texas on August 2, 1974, she married Joe Craig, Jr. and they made their home in Carrollton.  After Jeanie and Joe retired they moved to their home on Lake Tawakoni.  Jeanie was a very active lady.  She enjoyed bowling and in 1988 she became the Quaker State Pro-Am Champion.  Jeanie also liked to knit, read, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  She and her husband Joe loved to travel, taking numerous cruises with friends, taking cross country motorcycle trips together, and taking flight excursions with Captain Joe in their airplane.  Jeanie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the Tawakoni Civic Club.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Hook and Joyce Hayes, step-daughter Tina Marie Craig, and sister Lavonna Ellison.

She is loved and will be missed by her husband Joe; sons James Craig of Sweetwater, David Craig and wife Robin of Lubbock and Billy Craig and wife Juanita of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; brother David Hayes and wife Bridgette of Midland, sister Terri Parker of Midland; grandchildren Austin, Wyatt, Logan, Luke and a long list of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The Craig family would like to send a special thank you to Vicki and Julia at Abacus Healthcare, along with Ellen, Trish, Gina, Bill, and Eric at Hospice Plus for their kindness and love at the end.
