John Alfred Coshatt Jr.,81, of Point, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at his residence. Memorial services celebrating John’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Chaplain Dennis Hogan officiating.
John was born on August 14, 1935 in Semiole, Oklahoma. He is the son of the late John Alfred Coshatt Sr. and Drucilla Rackley Coshatt. He was raised and educated in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. At the age of 25 he became a long haul trucker for several different companies. In the 1970’s he moved to Texas where John met and married the former Miss Judy Collette on August 31, 1984 and they made their home in Quinlan, Texas and later they moved to Point, Texas. He retired in 2005 from Bobby Whitfield Trucking in Caddo Mills after more than 40 years as a driver. He was also preceded in death by a son Paul “Jake” Neal Coshatt in November 1992 and a brother Bob Coshatt. He enjoyed driving a truck so much it was among his favorite past times, he also loved to read and spend time with his family.
He is loved and will be missed by his wife Judy Coshatt; sons Jon Coshatt and wife Mel of Talala, OK, Michael Coshatt and wife Tammy of Glenpool, OK, David Coshatt and wife Debbie of Van Buren, AR; step-sons Kevin Silkey of Quinlan, Jimmy Silkey and wife Jody of Quinlan; step-daughter Trichia Farrell and husband Rusty of Point; brother Paul Coshatt of Wilburton, OK; grandchildren Michael, Malissa, Cody, Monica, Jon, Katy, Christopher, William, Emily, Jessica, Victoria, Brandy Paul, Laura and Jacob; step-grandchildren Darek, Megan, James and Jillian; and several great-grandchildren.
