April 20, 1942 ~ October 19, 2016 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Joe Gomez, 74, of Kaufman peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home in Seven Points. Memorial services celebrating Joe’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Seven Points with Brother Rivera officiating.

 

Joe was born on April 20, 1942 in Dallas County. He is the son of the late Reyes and Paulina Gomez. He was raised and educated in Seagoville. He worked as a self-employed General Contractor and Builder all of his life. He was also preceded in death by 1 brother Gregorio Gomez, 4 sisters Gregoria Jimenez, Rita Espiricuta, Faye Marquez, Angie Gomez and 1 daughter Vanita Jo Gomez. He was a great musician and he loved to share his talent by singing and playing for everyone. He loved his church and church family and he wanted everyone to know Jesus. As a builder he was always working on building something. He enjoyed watching football and boxing. Spending time with family and friends was very important to him. He had a giving spirit and loved to help others in any way he could.

 

He is loved and will be missed by his 3 sons Allan Warren of Crandall, Terry Gomez of Mesquite, Joe Gomez Jr. of McKinney; 3 daughters Shearie Rhodes of Frisco, Christina Carroll of Winnsboro, Brittnay Gomez of North Dakota; 1 brother Lorenso Gomez of Dallas; 3 sisters Josefa Gelacio of Dallas, Lupe Ortega of Mesquite, Mariana Walton of Longview; 20 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
