Joe Clayborn Obituary

Joe Dennis Clayborn 62 of Quinlan passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Greenville.  A gathering for family and friends will be held 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.

Dennis was born April 8, 1956 in Hereford, Texas to Billy Joe Clayborn and Edna Christine Muhle Clayborn.  Dennis spent most of his childhood in Amarillo, moving to Roswell New Mexico while he was in high school.  After completing school he became a truck driver, hauling cattle.  On August 2, 1975 Dennis married the former Miss Billie Jean Lumpkins and they had one daughter, April.  She preceded in death on October, 17, 2009.  He later married Patsy Pratt on August 17, 2013 and they made their home in Quinlan.  He was an outdoorsman.  He raced cars, enjoyed fishing, loved to cook and especially loved to eat crawfish.  Dennis made friends with everybody he met and called them family.  The one thing he really enjoyed was playing with his grandbabies.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Billie, brother Danny Clayborn, and sister Saundra Smith.

He is loved and will be missed by his wife Pat; daughter April Carter and husband Joseph of Dallas; stepsons Michael Earls and wife Tina of Sulphur Springs, LaDon Earls and wife Mattie of Quinlan, and Steven Earls and wife Timi of Colorado; stepdaughter Linda Cowden and husband Daniel of Turner, Oregon; grandchildren Jasmine Clayborn, Scarlett Beeman, Alex Earls, Addyson Earls, Sheldon Earls, David Earls, Malinda Earls, Kelsee Earls, Megan Earls, Shelley Cowden, Cristina Thompson, Thomas Adkins; great-grandchildren Alexis Earls, Joseph Earls, Kolby Wilson, Kamdin Wilson, Jaxs Mullins, Maycee Mullins, Autumn Cowden; sisters Sherri Tickner of Amarillo, Texas, Debbie Stanton and Vicki Clayborn of Conway, Arkansas.  He also had 5 nephews and 3 nieces.
