Janis "Jan" Diane (White) Kelbert

January 15, 1958 ~ January 6, 2017 (age 58) 58 Years Old

Janis Diane Kelbert, 58, of Royse City, TX, passed away on January 6, 2017 at home after bravely fighting cancer for three years.

She was born in Long Beach, CA on January 15, 1958, daughter of Charles White and Nadine Jennings. She attended Lakewood High School and graduated in 1976. She continued her education taking additional courses at Long Beach City College. Jan married her high school sweetheart, Ray Kelbert on March 26, 1977 and they had two sons, Sean and Eric. She and her husband ran a successful business, Kelbert's Painting, of which Jan served as the President. She spent 24 years in La Palma, CA before moving to Royse City, TX in 2010.

Jan truly loved to live life to the fullest. She was a woman of God and He came first. Every breath she took was to serve Him and her family. Throughout her children's childhood she ran the snack bar at all their sporting events. She was Sean and Eric's biggest cheerleader. She led a Bible study for 10 years at Calvary Chapel Downey in Downey, CA, as well as the food bank ministry for 3 years. Jan loved her time with Bible study so much, that she also led Bible study at Seacoast Grace Church in Cypress, CA and co-hosted a Bible study with her mom, Nadine, once she relocated to Texas.

Jan loved to dance and exercise and fostered these passions through her time at Kick It Up in Long Beach, CA. She spent several years dancing and teaching spinning and pilates classes. She loved gardening, decorating and made any excuse to host a party and celebrate! Jan had the most welcoming soul and she immediately made everyone feel comfortable in a room. She was a fighter in every term of the word, for God, for her family and for her friends. She was a mentor and lighthouse to the lost. She studied the word every morning and used this knowledge to guide her in her daily life and her uplifting conversations. She always sung God's praises for all the blessings in her life. This faith in God, her personality and love for life was contagious.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; son Sean of Denver, CO, and his wife Gina and their two children, Shelby and Lana; son Eric of Los Angeles, CA; mother Nadine Jennings and her stepfather Bob of Royse City, TX; father Charles White of Thousand Oaks, CA and brother Jerry White and his wife Debbie and their two sons, Anthony and Alex of Seal Beach, CA.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV)
