James "Wayne" Melton Jr., 52, of West Tawakoni went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 19, 2016 in Dallas. Funeral services celebrating Wayne’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Pastor Ronnie Nalls officiating. Interment will follow service at Able Springs Cemetery in Kaufman County. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

Pallbearers will be Brian Black, Curtis Sprabary, James Melton, Jessie Williams, Eddie Cotton and Joe Graham.

Wayne was born on July 26, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. He is the son of the late James Wayne Melton Sr. and Carolyn Booker Melton. He was raised and educated in Dallas. Wayne married the former Miss Gloria Sherrod on January 18, 1984. They moved to West Tawakoni in 1994. He worked as a welder for Kent’s Metal Craft in Greenville for several years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, watching old westerns and playing his guitar. He loved taking care of his kids and being with his family.

He is loved and will be missed by his wife Gloria Melton of West Tawakoni; sons James Wayne Melton III and wife Hannah of Garland, Mark Sherrod of West Tawakoni; daughters Katrina Sherrod of West Tawakoni; grandchildren Evette and Mark Jr.; sisters Linda Velez and husband Sal of California, Pam Allen and husband Caleb of Crandall, Brandie Hunsaker and husband Mike of Combine; several nieces and nephews.
