Gilberto (Gil) Valle Garcia went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 12 at the age of 81. He was born in Millett, Texas to Fernando Garcia and Lili Valle on July 16, 1936. He is preceded in death by his parents, younger brother Teodoro (Lolo) Garcia, and grandson Jesse Ibarra.  

He is survived by two brothers and spouses, Fernando (Nando) Garcia and Lupe of Chicago, Il, and Arturo Garcia and Cecilia of Chicago, Il. Also, his seven children and spouses: Mary Griselda (Iche) Ibarra of Lake Dallas, Texas, Melida (Dande) Garcia and Samuel Tanguma of Grand Prairie, Texas, Nelda (Kike) Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Gilberto Garcia and Beth of The Woodlands, Texas, Lilia (Lile) Lopez and Roger of Grand Prairie, Texas, Leonel (Leo) Garcia and Janna of Mansfield and Elva (Vita) Martinez and Alexander of Southlake, Texas and numerous grandkids, great-grandkids, cousins and nieces and nephews.

His wishes were honored as he was laid to rest in a private funeral as he was a very humble man. He grew up in Millett and began working in the fields from a young age. He was married at the age of 19 to Maria Barrera. They moved to Chicago, Il  working at U.S. Steel and lived there for 20 years before returning to Texas. He worked for The Alan Ritchey Trucking until he retired. While in Texas he lived in Grand Prairie, Blooming Grove and Quinlan, Texas. 

He was a man easily contented by the simple things in life. He was grateful to have  a roof over his head, a full stomach, and dependable transportation! They don't make men like Gil anymore. He was a hardworking, honest, generous, and considerate man who loved ALL of his family very much. He was always ready for a conversation to impart his wisdom and philosophy on life. He will surely be missed. May he rest in peace.
