Gerline Fair Hancock, 87, of Point went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 11, 2017 in Greenville. Funeral services celebrating Gerline’s life will be held under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Clarks Chapel Church of God in Flats with Bishop Kelvin Copeland officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time and burial will be immediately following service at Lake Creek Cemetery in Delta County.
Serving as pallbearers Mike Robertson, Mason Robertson, Tim Lee, E.J. Powell, Curtis Jones and Mike Hadaway.
Gerline was born on February 10, 1930 in Grant, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of the late Claude Fair and Cordy Fullerton Fair. At 3 days old Gerline moved with her family to Delta County, Texas where she was raised and attended school. Gerline married Charles Hancock in 1947 and they made their home in Delta County, late in the 1960”s they moved to Richardson. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1991. She worked for Collins Radio which later became Rockwall International Communications and she was a supervisor, prior to retiring in 1989. After retirement they moved to Lake Fork and in 2012 she moved to Point. She was also preceded in death by her son Anthony Hancock on November 29, 2011. She was a charter member of “The House of Prayer” in Emory. She enjoyed working in the yard, sewing and if she wanted to she could remodel a room! Family dinners and being with grandkids, family and friends were always cherished times for her.
She is loved and will be missed by her daughter Debbie Jones and husband Curtis of Point; daughter-in-law Bonita Hancock of Allen; sister Marie Lee of Dallas; grandchildren Cherie Hancock, Jheri Bigham, Gina Bigham; great-grandchildren Mason Robertson and Jevin Robertson; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
