Evelyn Theresa (Cavedo) Row

October 29, 1938 ~ November 6, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Evelyn Theresa Cavedo Row, age 79, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2017, after a long-battle with Alzheimer’s.  Evelyn was one of four children (and the only daughter) to Frederick Bryan & Evelyn Thaw McGuffin Cavedo of Richmond, Virginia.

Evelyn spent her formative years in the community of Varina, in Henrico County, Virginia, where she attended and graduated from St. Patrick’s Academy in Richmond, Virginia.  As a young adult and military wife, Evelyn enjoyed traveling the world and resided in many different places – including, Germany, Colorado, Kansas, Georgia, South Dakota, Nevada and Texas.

During her early professional life, she worked at Ft. Belvoir in Virginia – then moved on to enjoy life as an entrepreneur in Real Estate (“Ponderosa Real Estate”); Fashion Retail (“The Foxy Market”); and even an ice cream parlor (“Carousel Ice Cream Parlor”), while in South Dakota. Later in life, she leveraged those successes, retiring from Clark County as a Tax Accessor & Land Appraiser for the State of Nevada and after moving to Texas, she returned to the retail world, retiring from Foley’s Department Store (later to become Macy’s) in 2011.  Evelyn will be remembered for her quick wit and tenaciousness that allowed her to achieve success in her many endeavors.

Survivors include her children; John Row of Dallas, Texas; Robert Row of Phoenix, Arizona; James Row of Houston, Texas; and a brother, Henry Cavedo of Dunnellon, Florida (formerly of Richmond, Virginia) – along with 5 grandchildren; as well as, several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Bryan Cavedo; mother, Evelyn Thaw McGuffin Cavedo; brother, Frederick Bryan Cavedo, Jr (all of Richmond, Virginia); and brother, Ralph Aubrey Cavedo (of Columbus, Georgia).

At her request, a private service and burial (for attendance by family) will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Richmond, Virginia where she will join preceding Cavedo Family members.  In lieu of flowers, consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Thanks to the staff and support at Brookdale Senior Living for their help and support.
