Eunice Mae Johnson, 89, of Point went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services celebrating Eunice’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Assembly of God Church in Lone Oak with Rev. Sam Calk officiating. Interment will be immediately following service at Sunny Point Cemetery in Cumby. Visitation will be held from 5: 00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.
Serving as Pallbearers: David Lemons, John Lemoine, Richard Elmore, Shawn Smith, Clyde Wright and Rick Silva.
Mrs. Johnson was born on July 4, 1927 in Corn City, Texas where she was raised and attended school. She is the daughter of the late Guy Stockton and Carrie Mae Grantham Stockton. She married Ernest Edwin Johnson Sr. and they made their home in and around Hunt County, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1993. She is also preceded in death by her son Johnny Johnson on July 12, 2016. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Lone Oak. She enjoyed working in her puzzle books and reading the Bible.
She is loved and will be missed by her sons David Johnson of Point, Ernest Edwin Johnson Jr. of Dallas; daughter Louise Johnson of Point; brother Birl Stockton of Sequin; sisters Emma Jean Hobbs and husband Cliff of Round Rock, Tommie Dougan and husband Ken of Grand Prairie; grandson Michael Kiesling and wife Jess; granddaughter Kathy Lavender and husband Shannon; great-grandsons James Kiesling, Josh Kiesling, Dakota Kiesling, Mikey Kiesling, Wyatt Kiesling, Leon Morrison, Levi Lavender and Robert Lavender; great-granddaughter KayLee Kiesling.
