Emma “Louise” Hocutt, 78, of Quinlan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 23, 2017. Memorial services celebrating Louise’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Ingram Funeral Home.

Louise was born on February 12, 1939 in Cooper, Texas. She is the daughter of the late Eunice Francis Moore and Zonia Mayola Moore. Being a share cropper’s daughter she was raised wherever the crops needed picking. Louise married George Hocutt at the age of 15 and they made their home in Grand Prairie where they had three wonderful children before moving to Mesquite. Her first job was a data entry clerk and from there she taught herself all about computers and worked her way thru the computer industry. She was a very intelligent woman who taught herself how to do anything she wanted to learn. She was an author of several books; she worked as a CPA, and had numerous interests from Facebook to Blogs. She was working on a College Degree at the time of her demise. She was also preceded in death by her son William Dean Hocutt, daughter Terrie Faye Hocutt, brothers G.D. Moore and Howard Wayne Moore, sisters Vivian Jennings, Dorothy Moore and Maudean Ball. She enjoyed reading, computers and spending time with family. She was a real fighter who fought with everything she had to hold onto life.

She is loved and will be missed by her son Jerry Ray Hocutt; brothers Jimmy Moore and wife Joan of Quinlan, Kenneth Moore and wife Karen of Quinlan; sisters Patricia Van Zandt and husband Jim of Dallas, Marie Jennings of Quinlan; sister-in-law Shirlene Moore; 7 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many other family members.
