Arbye “Lee” Curtis III, 68, of the Lake Tawakoni and Missouri City communities, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Funeral services celebrating Lee’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 17, 2016 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will be at Hart Cemetery following the service.
Lee was born on October 18, 1947 to Arbye Lee Curtis, Jr., and Gloria L. Flach Curtis in Dallas, Texas. Lee was raised and educated in Richardson, Texas and after completing school, worked for Texas Instruments and GSI as a field services engineer and consultant for 30-plus years. On August 18, 1979, he married the former Miss Elizabeth Ann Cook. Lee’s time in the oil industry took him all over the world, living many different places, with his last 23 years in Missouri City, Texas and Lake Tawakoni. He enjoyed electronics, woodworking, reading, movies, sports, fishing, and being on the lake. Lee was an avid Houston Texas and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a hardworking, witty, and entertaining individual to be around. Lee is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Tammy Silverstein on March 20, 2016, and sister Debbie Frazier on April 23, 2013.
He is loved and will be missed by his wife Elizabeth “Liz” Curtis, son Arbye Lee Curtis IV of Chicago, Illinois; daughters Susan “Sue" Tillery and husband Kyle of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Gabrielle “Gabby” McDonald and husband David of Jacksonville, Florida; sister Carole Curtis of Lake Tawakoni; Uncle Rev. Richard Flach and wife Betty of Wheatland, Texas; grandchildren Wesley, R.J., Savannah, Madison, Ethan, and Zander; great-grandchildren Jaxson, Joel, and Jesse; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will also be missed by his K-9 kids, Zelda and Zsa Zsa.
