Granddaddy Alvin was my favorite sub in school! My favorite memory of him was when he told an atheist girl in our class this about why he himself believed in God... He said, "The way I see it, if I believe in God my whole life and die and find out that He doesn't exist, no harm done, I'm just dead.... BUT.... if I spend my life denying God and then die and find out that He DOES exist, well... I would burn in hell for eternity! So, I think I'll choose God... just to be on the safe side. What about you...?" I was 16 when he said that. 20 years later, he is still in my heart because of his honest truth and the way he presented his beliefs! I saw him a few months ago at Wal-Mart and he remembered me and gave me a hug and told me that God loves me! I know that Granddaddy Alvin was a child of God and he is in Heaven waiting for us to join him!! I love you, Granddaddy Alvin! Thank you for making an impact on my life, and I'm sure the many others that you touched in your life!!! RIP!!!
